About me
Spent over a decade designing products. Getting better at asking the right questions.
I'm Ymer, a Senior Product Designer working across product strategy, user experience and design leadership. I've worked with startups and established companies in healthcare, IoT, fintech, compliance and enterprise software.

A little philosophy
I don't believe a solution becomes right simply because it follows a familiar design principle.
I aim to understand why something exists, what the user needs from it, what constraints we're working within and what happens when things don't go as expected.
Experience helps me recognize patterns. Asking questions helps me understand whether those patterns actually apply.
Areas of focus
My work has taken different forms, but the challenges often have a lot in common.
Complex products
Making information and actions easier to understand in products with specialist users, multiple roles, and operational constraints.
Product ownership
Clarifying requirements, setting priorities, and planning work around the team's delivery capacity.
Systems & delivery
Establishing reusable interface patterns and explicit behavioral requirements that support consistent implementation.
Design leadership
Helping designers build domain understanding, review their work critically, and take greater ownership of decisions.
How I work
No fixed formula. Just a few principles I keep coming back to.
01
Understand the problem
Before working in the solution space, I want to understand the people, context, behaviors, constraints and decisions behind it. The first requirement isn't always the actual problem.
02
Challenge assumptions
I question unclear requirements, explore alternatives and try to make the reasoning behind decisions explicit. A good question can save more time than a polished prototype.
03
Work across boundaries
I collaborate closely with product managers, engineers and domain experts. The best solutions often come from combining different perspectives rather than defending individual ownership.
04
Improve what matters
Sometimes the right solution is a new experience. Sometimes it's a clearer requirement, a reusable component or a better way of working. I care about what changes because of the work, not just what gets delivered.
